Walmart stores are circulating a memo indicating that the stores will no longer allow transactions for the purposes of manufactured spend beginning December 19, 2020.
The memo, pictured below, describes what manufactured spend is, and that Walmart stores will no longer allow it due to the time-consuming nature of these transactions. It’s up to Walmart employees to spot the activity and disallow such transactions.
Reader Sam sent in the above image, and reader b. also tells of seeing the same memo (though they were barred from taking an image), and reader Jonathan sent in this tip as well.
This will effect prepaid card loads, money orders, etc. Anything that appears to the Walmart employees to be for manufactured spend purposes won’t be allowed, according to the memo, which is probably (?) being sent to all Walmart stores nationwide.
This looks to be the final nail in the coffin of the Walmart/MS era. Sad day for many people. If you rely on Walmart, be sure to liquidate everything this week before the ban goes into effect.
