American Express has expanded the types of payments they allow for use with the Plastiq bill payment service. Previously they only allowed things like taxes, tuition, and rent. They’ve now added many types of business payments for professional services, business services, construction, and select inventory payments.
Plastiq users have always been able to pay for certain bills with an American Express card. But now, you can now use it even more for expenses like:
- Professional and business services
- Construction
- Wholesale inventory
Make sure to check out the full list for specifics on what you can pay for with AMEX and Plastiq. If you have an American Express card, these new options should help you keep more cash on hand and better manage your finances.
They have a really exhaustive list at that link showing various types of payments and which ones are allowed with which payment type. It seems that many business payments are still not allowed, e.g. paying your gardener or graphic designer. Yet many business payments are now allowed, such as paying your contractor, computer programmer, exterminator, lawyer, accountant, and paying for select types of inventory purchases.
