Update 4/8/21: Referral bonuses on Capital One spark cards are available again. Person referring gets $200 and person being referred gets $500 after spending $4,500 within the first three months. Might make sense to wait for the $2,000/200,000 point bonus. Hat tip to DDG
[Update 7/10/19: Some people got an offer for $100 per referral on the Savor card today. The new member will get $300 bonus with annual fee waived, so if you’re in 2-player mode this could make sense. The regular offer is $400 with no fee waiver. Some people are also getting the $100 referral offer on the Venture card. Others are getting $150 offer on the QuickSilver.]
[Update 3/26/19: a new batch of people were targeted today on Quicksilver. Signup bonus for the new referred member is the standard $150/$500 offer. $150 is the standard offer, though we have seen $200 in the past.]
Capital One has sent out an e-mail to some cardholders offering them a bonus of $100 for referring friends to the Quicksilver card. You can receive $100 per friend that you refer that is approved, up to a maximum of $500. It’s not clear if this promotion is only going out on Quicksilver cards, or if it’s also available on other cards.
This isn’t the first time Capital One has tested a targeted referral program like this, they also did something similar back in 2017. It’s not clear if Capital One will send out a 1099-misc form like Chase, American Express & Discover did for referrals earned in 2018. Please do not share your referral links in the comments below. As the offers aren’t very attractive for new cardholders I don’t think there will be any real demand for these links.
